Sev Shoon Arts Center (black dog in Armenian) has its roots in the admiration of past artists—impressionists, surrealists, dadaists—who “reinvented the world.” Dionne Haroutunian founded Sev Shoon in 1991. Sev Shoon has become home to a community of artists and students who reinvent the world in their own way.
The studio at Sev Shoon is available for rent on a 24/7 basis. There are three large etching presses, a lithograph press, silk screen equipment, darkroom, exposure unit, and a computer lab. Sev Shoon sponsors frequent public exhibitions of renters’ artwork.
